Tweak says, "Let's hear it for the boy!"

Katherine Paige Mckay; 46, "Kate" is reserved for family and close ties only, and it's never "Katie". She was born in San Francisco on June 11th, 1964, however she spent her time between cities San Fran, LA, NY, and Boston making it very hard on her adolescences to commit to real connections, or social relationships.

To make matters even more extensive and difficult for her childhood she grew up surrounded by three obnoxious (or they were at the time) brothers, who she did believe set out merely to make her life and days intolerable. But, that could be the dramatic adolescent talking, though even to this day the siblings remain very distant.

After establishing a permanent home in LA she attended UCLA majoring in criminal justice. Then the California Police Academy. A fresh new recruit at the age of 22 following the opposing footsteps of both her parents who were high profile money/fame chasing lawyers. To them it was all about publicity instead of substance, giving her a real harsh and negative view toward lawyers in general. It didn't help that two out of her three brothers excelled in the scummy lawyer field, and the other one is a head at some corporation that one of the others represents. At 26 Kate got married young, not really sure what she was doing. The marriage was on the rocks moments after it happened, and soon in she was contemplating ending it when surprise, a pregnancy happened. The arrival of Dylan did change things for about 6 years. But Kate not being congenital, not wanting to dote on her husband and part of her not trusting her ability to be a good mother really caused her much distress. But since Kate started working with the LAPD, she had fallen madly in love with her commanding officer, who ended up recruiting her into the FBI with himself, while he headed a major undercover case in New York City, begging Kate to come with to do the work. Doe-eyed over him of course she agreed and left Dylan and her husband "for work" It didn't go over well for Dylan or his Dad.

Kate worked undercover in NY, and Boston as part of their homicide department, going after major Colombian drug kingpin however after the investigation ended, an uprising of creditable threats put her in jeopardy, and she was moved to Portland OR, where she started working for the FBI. To their advantage Kate is successfully multilingual and speaks fluent Spanish. Though, ironically, these threats started coming when her case agent/long term 14 year boyfriend started to get distant and eventually left her for a younger, thinner, blonde agent in NYC.

This being the second most heart-wrenching moment of her life, all this time away from Dylan, she spent years regretting it and trying to check up on his well being. The final blow being that the person she had so sincerely loved just threw her away and moved on after all that time, and she had the suspicion he wasn't exactly the most faithful when she wasn't around. Now finding out that Dylan was also in Portland has set her on a track to pretty much beg him for forgiveness.



Being young in her mid twenties Kate jumped on her rebellious side and jumped into getting married because honestly "why not?" It didn't go as well as it would in romantic comedies. In fact it when downhill minutes after it happened. Especially when she found herself madly in love with one of her commanding supervisors. The feeling happened to be mutual and he spend much of his time convincing her to drop the marriage side show. But to her surprise she found herself pregnant and at least willing to try and make things work. But it didn't, after having her son Dylan things really didn't get better. It was a whole lot more of stress that she at the time really didn't want. She ran off with her boss to work with him in the FBI in New York City, they never got married but were in a long term relationship for the last 14 years. However, he broke up with her to be with his new young blonde much thinner agent and then had her transferred Portland Oregon.
